Alice Cooper Brings Shock Rock Theater to the Grand Ole Opry

Grand Ole Opry House — Nashville, TN | August 4, 2019

Alice Cooper transformed the Grand Ole Opry House into a full-scale shock-rock production on August 4, 2019, delivering a set that blended classic theatrics with hard-hitting, crowd-tested songs. In a venue more commonly associated with country music tradition, Cooper’s performance felt both disruptive and perfectly controlled.

The set leaned heavily on defining anthems like “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” “I’m Eighteen,” “Feed My Frankenstein,” and “School’s Out,” each punctuated by Cooper’s trademark stage props, character changes, and dark humor. His voice remained strong and commanding, while the band executed every transition with precision, keeping the show moving at a sharp, theatrical pace.

Additional songs included Billion Dollar Babies, Bed of Nails, Muscle of Love, Raped and Freezin’, and Poison, rounding out a career-spanning set that balanced spectacle with substance.

Opening the night were Halestorm and Motionless in White, both delivering high-energy sets that primed the crowd and set a heavier tone for the evening.

The Nashville stop reinforced Alice Cooper’s status as one of rock’s most enduring performers—still theatrical, still sharp, and still fully in command of the stage.
